Because the intermediate shaft is larger, the deflection of the shaft under load is larger, so the load concentration along the tooth width is more serious. At the same time, since the centers of the secondary gears must be the same, the load-bearing capacity of the primary gear is difficult to fully exert, and the bearing in the middle is also difficult to lubricate.
