Application of stepper motors in CNC machine tools

Stepper motors are widely used in various fields of production practice. Its largest application is the manufacturing of CNC machine tools. Because the stepper motor does not require A/D conversion and can directly convert digital pulse signals into angular displacement, it is considered an ideal CNC machine tool actuator.

With the development of stepper motor technology, stepper motors can be used alone in the system and become irreplaceable actuators. For example, stepper motors are used as drive motors for the feed servo mechanism of CNC milling machines. In this application, the stepper motor can complete two tasks at the same time, one is to transmit torque, and the other is to transmit information.

The stepper motor can also be used as the drive motor of the synchronization system of the CNC worm grinding wheel edge grinding machine. In addition to their use in CNC machine tools, stepper motors can also be used in other machines, such as motors in automatic feeders, as motors in universal floppy disk drives, and in printers and plotters.
